Step into the serenity of Snydertown Road, where our team at Catskills Fine Homes crafted a 2000 sq. ft. Barnhouse, perfectly nestled on nearly 7 acres of picturesque hillside in Craryville, NY.

The Challange

Faced with a challenging terrain that included significant groundwater and rocky conditions, the Snydertown Road project required thoughtful planning and engineering solutions. The location's natural beauty was undeniable, but it demanded specialized construction techniques to ensure stability and sustainability.

The Solution

To address the site's complexities, we implemented advanced water management strategies, including the installation of footing drains integrated with solid poured 9-foot basement walls.

This approach not only safeguarded the structure against water damage but also enhanced the living space with elevated ceilings that concealed all mechanicals for a sleek, uncluttered aesthetic.

The construction of Snydertown Road utilized high-end materials and state-of-the-art technology to ensure durability and comfort.

This included:

  • Kohler Anthem & Avid Plumbing Fixtures and a Miseno Soaking Tub

  • Leviton Indoor Load Center Smart Panel

  • Yorketown Cabinetry with Quartz Countertops

  • James Hardie Lap Siding and Trex Decking with Cable Railing System

  • Kohler Generator with a 500 Gallon Sub-terrain Propane Tank

The Process

Our process started by preparing the site perfectly, and through that, we corrected the rocky terrain using strategic excavation and rock demolition. 

The construction phase was all about collaborating with the client every step of the way to ensure that every feature, from cathedral ceilings in the living areas to the huge sliding doors and an entirely open floor plan, was just how they envisioned.

The Results

Completing the Snydertown Road barnhouse brought to life a vision of modern hillside living. The strategic use of natural light, space, and advanced building materials resulted in a home that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional and sustainable.

The client can now take in the breathtaking views from their new hillside home, ready to become a beloved family retreat for generations to come.
